Mia Hebib explores a 360 degree view of jewelry art and design.

Bosnian born, raised in Croatia, Mia started her jewelry education at the School for Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb. In 1996, she moved to the United States and in 2001 she received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Metals and Jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Mia’s professional career started in NYC in 2001 with corporate design roles at Liz Claiborne, Henri Bendel and BCBGeneration. She is currently consulting with the legendary iconic American jewelry artist Robert Lee Morris.

In 2007 Mia founded Oblik Atelier; a jewelry studio that brought Mia back to metal-smithing, allowed her to create in a more intimate environment and to revisit her fine art roots and connect them to her invaluable experience in the corporate design world. Oblik Atelier jewelry is thus forging an alliance between fashion and art. The jewelry designs are miniature hand produced wearable sculptures. They are bold, yet elegant, defined through sinuous lines, architectural forms and explorations in shapes, rhythm and play of positive and negative space.

Mia straddles the fine art and fashion world by participating at SOFA Expo, Art Hamptons, Art Palm Beach, Sieraad and by being represented in the galleries and museums in the world. She also attends Premiere Classe, fashion oriented trade shows in Europe and is represented by the high-end boutiques throughout the world.

In 2010, Mia also created  “Salon- Inventive Art Jewelry Exhibit in an Inventible Space” a temporary jewelry exhibit in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to share an excerpt of the prolific jewelry scene with a wide New York City audience. She was the MAD resident in the summer of 2011.

Mia’s work has been published in the New York Post, Elle, Vogue,  InStyle UK, New York Times Magazine, Lark Books publications, I-D Magazine to name a few.

Mia is also a graduate and senior students’ mentor at her alma mater, the Savannah College of Art and Design,.
